It's hardly breaking new ground to suggest that heat is sometimes very uncool. By definition, that's apparent. And it certainly was the case in three incidents involving the NBA in the last week.

Item: LeBron James gets a speeding ticket for driving 101 mph and says he has every intention of breaking the triple-digit barrier again.

Suggestion to Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry: Have your PR department make printouts of stories detailing the death of Bobby Phills.

Phills was a solid NBA player for nine years and, by all accounts of those who knew him, a better person -- good husband, father and active in the community. Read more
